Lots of people are under the impression that the end of the world will occur in 2012. Will it? And if it does, what will occur? Many theories abound about it. Some people believe that the earth is going to be torn apart by some sort of spatial object. This might be a black hole that comes near the earth. Yet others believe that the so-called Planet X called Nibiru will make a retuen after a long orbital path around the sun. Planet X will pass very close to the earth, and its gravitational pull will harm our planet.
Another theory is that a huge asteroid is going to slam into the planet. However, many scientists have pointed out that there is no asteroid on a collision course with earth, or at least not one that we can detect. An asteroid will pass “close” to the earth, but the definition of close, in this case, is about 18 times the distance from earth to the moon. Although in astronomical terms this is close, it’s not close enough to cause concern amongst astronomers and scientists.
A geomagnetic reversal event caused by a solar flare is another theory. This reversal will cause the earth’s magnetic north and south poles to switch their polarity, which according to some, will cause massive natural disasters across the planet.
There are a number of sites out there for the 2012 end of the world phenomenon, but one of them has a great number of resources. It is 2012 end of the world. This website features on all aspects of 2012, including a rundown of potential disasters. The site offers a fascinating insight, whether you are an expert or are just finding out about this subject for the first time.
